Postdoctoral Degree in International Relations

The Post-Doctoral Program at the Federal University of Uberlandia (PPD-UFU) is an institutional programme aimed at strengthening research and research groups, carried out through post-doctoral internship. The PPGRI-UFU is a post-doctoral internship programme, in the context of the PPD-UFU, in accordance with Resolution No.18/2015 of the Research and Graduate Council (CONPEP), available in portuguese version  (Microsoft Word - Pep1815_Normas Programa de P\363s-Doutorado.txt) (ufu.br) .

 

The following are the PPGRI-UFU PPD's main goals:

•   Motivate carrying out an advanced research and study;

•    Support the UFU research groups;

•     Place researchers in post-doctoral internships at UFU in order to promote the integration of Brazilian and foreign researchers with research initiatives developed by the Postgraduate Programs (PPGs);

•     Enhance the University's standard of scientific excellence;

•     Support the development of human resources;

•     Encourage greater participation in graduate education on a national and worldwide scale;

•     Promote UFU's research groups and lines both nationally and internationally.

 

The PPD at PPGRI-UFU is mostly conducted in two ways:

1. With a scholarship or financing provided by an organization or promoting body that has been decided upon and awarded through particular editorials;

2. Without being awarded a scholarship, willingly, constantly, and without payment or any assistance.

 

How may one apply to be a member of the PPD on a volunteer basis?

The applicant must submit a proposal together with all the following necessary paperwork in order to be considered for participation in the voluntary PPD:

1.   A formal request from the supervising teacher to be included in the PPD (Please refer to the attached sample request available in portuguese version  modelo_de_requerimento.doc (live.com) ).

2.   A research project that includes an activity timetable.

3.   Details on the use of any labs, physical spaces, or other resources that UFU will supply, if any, and any material needs.

     •  An affirmation that the resource requirements indicated above have been approved by the director of the Institute of Economics and International Relations, the location of the desired internship.

     •  If the internship does not necessitate resources from UFU, a statement from the student confirming the absence of such needs (Please refer to the provided template statement available in portuguese version modelo_de_declaracao.doc (live.com) ).

4.   An updated link to the Lattes CV and a digital copy.

5.   A copy of the doctorate diploma or certificate proving that the doctorate program was completed.

6.   A signed Declaration of Commitment Term (Annex I available in portuguese version anexo_i.pdf (ufu.br) ) and a Recognition of Intellectual Property (Annex II available in portuguese version anexo_ii.pdf (ufu.br) );

7.   A commitment to the post-doctoral internship activities or an endorsement from the applicant's employer, research organization, or educational institution, if appropriate, endorsing the conditions of absence.

8.   Any further documentation that may be needed, given the particulars and specifications of each proposal

 

The proposal should be sent by the supervisor via SEI  Secretaria de Estado de Governo - SEGOV MG - SEI!MG portal to the PPGRI-UFU board.

The proposal will be examined by the PPGRI-UFU board. The candidate will need to present the following paperwork for registration if it is accepted: a letter of commitment, evidence of voting discharge, birth certificate, identity document, CPF (Brazilian taxpayer register), and a registration request. For male applicants, there will also be a military service certificate. A copy of a passport, a copy of a residence visa, and the RNM (National Migration Registry) are needed for overseas applicants.
